How Long Does an Open Water Diver (OWD) Course Take?

A common question we get is: How long does an Open Water Diver course take? At Chang Diving Center, we tailor the course to your comfort level. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Theory – Online

The theory portion can be completed online at your own pace before the course starts. Plan for approximately 10 hours of study time. Learn more about our courses.

2. Practical Training – Three Full Days

The practical training is conducted over three full days, and we recommend dedicating these days entirely to the course. Between pool sessions and boat dives, there is little room for other activities. This ensures you can focus fully on diving and gain confidence underwater.

Combine Your OWD with Other Courses

Did you know you can combine your OWD course with a Nitrox course? Ask us about a package price to extend your dive time with enriched air.

After completing your OWD, you can also enroll in the Advanced Open Water Diver course or book our OWD and AOWD package to further enhance your diving skills.
